Tips for Maintaining Your Little Buck Loader for John Deere 425, 445, 455, and X-Series
Terry in Canaan, NY, purchased a Little Buck Loader for his John Deere 425 back in 2019, and since then, he’s made a lot of videos and posted them to his YouTube (you can find him as Tesser52 on YouTube!).
We wanted to highlight two videos, in particular, that might be helpful in maintaining your Little Buck Loader.
In his first video on maintenance, Terry, discusses how every couple of months he does the following:
Check the hydraulic hoses coming out of the pistons that go into the couplings, to make sure there’s no sign of wear or leakage. Check your hydraulic fluid to make sure you’re not running low.
Grease the four fittings/zerks. Get the bucket in the proper position so that you can access the fittings. You’ll know you have enough grease if you see a tiny bit escape after you’ve refilled the grease nipples.
Make sure the pins that connect the Little Buck Loader to your John Deere are lubricated so that it’s easy to remove and reattach.
In his second video on maintenance, Terry discusses how his front piston detached from the bucket. He recommends that you regularly check the fitting that connects the piston to the bucket, as the threads may loosen over time. Unbolt the piston and lubricate it before reattaching.
